Eric was born and raised in Tigard Oregon. He graduated from Tigard High School in 1984 where he was an all-state athlete. He graduated from Corbin College in Salem, Oregon, in 1991 with a degree in History (Cum Laude) and a certificate in Education. After college, Eric taught for four years in the Oregon public school system. In the mid-90’s Eric moved into the world of politics working for a U.S. Congressional candidate, Oregon State Representative, and on two California state-wide initiatives. In 1999 Eric was hired as the Executive Director of the Coalition for Fair Employment in Construction, and has been fighting since then for open competition in the California construction industry. Since joining CFEC, Eric has grown the group from 50 to over 300 companies. Eric has helped to create regional coalitions to more effectively fight PLAs at the grassroots level. Eric was instrumental in helping to pass a first-of-its-kind ordinance banning PLAs in the City of Fresno in 2000 and Orange County in 2009. His work has led to the defeat of dozens of PLAs throughout the state. In 2002, Eric was named as one of the 40 under 40 by the East Bay Business Times, a recognition given to young professionals making an impact in California. He is married to Major Karyn Christen, a pilot in the United States Air Force Reserve. Eric and Karyn have three beautiful children, Damian, Sophia, and Gabriel. |

Alicia Pivirotto holds a BA in Public Administration (with a concentration in City Planning) from the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts at San Diego State University.
She has held coveted internships at the office of County Supervisor Ron Roberts as well as San Diego County’s Health and Human Services Department, where her responsibilities ranged from daily constituent casework to assisting with the formulation of policy language for the City of San Diego’s General Plan Update.
Alicia is also an active member of the San Diego State University Alumni Association and the American Planning Association. |

Jessica Marie Porter-Zaragoza was born and raised in San Diego. She is an alumnus from the University of San Diego (C/O 2009). At the USD she majored in Political Science. Jessica has held various internships, which include, Legal Aid of San Bernardino and the Campaign to Elect Phil Thalheimer.
Jessica plans to attend law school. She is married to Apolinar Zaragoza, and they have one daughter, Lauren Marie Zaragoza.

Chris Heinsen is a University of San Diego 2008 graduate. He graduated with a degree in Political Science and Business Administration. While at the university, he was the chairman of a political organization for two years and wrote a thesis on campaign contributions in California. He is currently in graduate school working towards a law degree and a Masters in business. Chris studies the application of environmental law to the construction industry as well as investigates political contributions. |
