On September 10 CFEC's Eric Christen was invited to debate the AFL-CIO of San Diego's Lorena Gonzalez at San Diego State University. The invitation had been made by local businessman and San Diego Port Commissioner Steve Cushman, who co-teaches a class on management and labor relations. The topic of conversation was Labor's role in 21st Century America and why so few American workers belong to a union.
