DeMaio and Coalition Press Conference

San Diego’s Councilman Carl DeMaio along with the Coalition held a press conference on Tuesday, November 23, 2009 announcing an effort to get a fair and open competition measure on the ballot. Councilman Carl DeMaio, CFEC’s Eric Christen, Scott Brady, and numerous contractors spoke of the necessity for a fair and open measure on the ballot to end sweetheart deals.
“It has been three years since voters overwhelmingly passed Proposition C and they endorsed the idea that we should have competitive bidding on city services. It has not been implemented, and now we have to go back to the ballot and provide real accountability for these reforms,” said Councilman DeMaio. |
