Concord Community Newspaper Evaluates Project Labor Agreement Policy


On April 12, 2016, the Concord City Council voted 5-0 to negotiate a Project Labor Agreement with the Contra Costa Building and Construction Trades Council. The city’s construction contractors would need to sign this union agreement as a condition of working on future projects. Read the staff report:

Consideration of the Council Ad Hoc Committee’s recommendation that Council authorize the Ad Hoc Committee to work with outside Counsel Michael Vlaming and staff to negotiate with the various building trade unions a possible City-wide project stabilization agreement.
